About BTM Bids
Bid writing that's led by someone who's actually done it
BTM Bids is led by Ben Marshman, an APMP-qualified bid professional with 16 years' experience writing and managing winning tender submissions across the construction, facilities management, reactive maintenance, fire safety and risk assessment sectors.
I started BTM Bids for a simple reason: too many capable, well-run businesses lose contracts they should win — not because they can't do the work, but because the bid didn't make that clear. A rushed method statement, a missed compliance question, a case study that doesn't quite answer what the evaluator is scoring against. The work was there; the submission let it down.
My job is to make sure that doesn't happen to you.

What I Bring
I combine formal bid management training — the APMP qualification is the industry standard for bid and proposal professionals — with real, practical knowledge of the sectors I work in. That means I understand not just how to structure a compelling, compliant response, but the operational detail behind it: how reactive maintenance SLAs actually work, what an evaluator wants to see in a fire safety compliance answer, how social value questions are really scored.
That combination matters. A generalist writer can make a bid read well. Someone who knows your sector can make it read right.

How I work with clients
I believe good bid writing is a partnership, not a hand-off. I take the time to understand your business, your strengths and the opportunities worth pursuing — then I build submissions that put your best case forward, clearly and persuasively.
Whether you need someone to manage the whole tender end-to-end, write specific sections, sharpen a draft you've already started, or simply help you decide which opportunities are worth your time, I'll meet you where you are. Your success is the point of everything I do.
